Friday Focus: talking about Jesus
It is usually easier to pray for someone than to talk with them, but the Great Commission is not ‘Go into all the world and pray...’ Perhaps now is the time to start a conversation. Ask questions. Be a listener. You could maybe suggest, ‘Have you ever tried praying about that?’ See what opens up!

Friday Focus: Movement Day UK (6-7 October)
Movement Day UK will bring together believers from across the country to seek God together, to dialogue and to explore strategic ways in which we can pursue the transformation of our places, in all areas of society. An open prayer event involving national leaders will also meet to pray for the unity of the Body of Christ and the nation.

Friday Focus: praying for our communities
Jesus encourages us to love the people around us: our neighbour, a stranger on the bus, a shop assistant. This weekend - the National Prayer Weekend - provides an opportunity to show God’s love to people in our communities by asking if they have anything they want us to pray for.

Friday Focus: harvest - food with friends
Matthew 14:13-21 tells of Jesus feeding five thousand. It’s a stunning picture of God’s unrivalled generosity and provision for us. What does this tell us about His nature? Our God is a God of hospitality who welcomes each of us, an Incarnate God who sits at the table with us and fills us with good things. He makes his dwelling among us.

Friday Focus: empowering peer to peer evangelism
The best and most authentic evangelism takes place in the context of relationship. Mission Academy Live launches on 16 September, using 10 video-based sessions to empower thousands of 11-18s across the country to reach out - intentionally, authentically and relationally - to six friends for Jesus.

Friday Focus: visionary leadership
In 2015 forty Christian leaders gathered in the Lake District for 24 hours of prayer and reflection. Next week leaders gather once again at the invitation of HOPE, the Evangelical Alliance, and the Church of England, to seek God for His strategy to make Jesus known.

Friday Focus: hope for those on the margins
We rejoice to see the many Christian charities in our towns and cities that have sprung up over recent years, reaching out to serve the marginalised in our communities. Surely our hearts’ desire is to see these broken needy ones welcome Jesus to be Lord in their lives.

Friday Focus: pray for our family
As an evangelist my greatest calling is to reach my family. ‘Your whole family is going to be in heaven with you, son’ was the whisper of the Spirit into my heart months ago as my youngest daughter met Jesus. Years of prayer answered. Pray daily for your wider family: I still pray with that promise in my heart.

Friday Focus: freedom behind bars
When Jesus sets us free, we each have a story to tell. Later this year a new book called 40 Stories of Hope brings together the stories of prisoners who have discovered the hope and freedom Jesus gives. Join with Prison Hope, praying that this collection of testimonies, Bible readings and prayers will inspire many people inside and outside prison.

Friday Focus: Hope for older people
Statistics show that a third of older people don't speak to another person in a week, and half cite TV as their main company. Loneliness and isolation are the cause of devastating physical and mental health problems. How can we as the Church intentionally address this need by tackling loneliness and isolation in older people?
