Advent 2016
02 Dec 2016The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, is providing a daily online reflection throughout Advent. The Archbishop said, ‘I love Advent, it’s a wonderful season of watching and waiting.’ Across the country denominations and organisations like Bible Lands, Salvation Army, Embrace and many more provide carol services, carol sheets, tips for organising community carol services or outreach nativity services, all-age church resources, and prayer booklets. They also offer many creative ideas for talks, schools resources, and Christian craft activities. Please pray for all the variety of Christmas outreach events organised for 2016. Also, remember those who find Christmas a difficult and challenging season, and those spending Christmas at home alone, or worse still on the streets and without a home. Pray for organisations like Shelter, Alabare, Crisis at Christmas, and churches supporting and helping vulnerable people at this time of year. See also:-http://www.alabare.co.uk/
Middle East: Christian broadcasting
02 Dec 2016Christian TV broadcaster SAT-7 broadcasts in the Middle East and North Africa and has just announced record viewership numbers of 21.5 million for its Arabic-language channels. Its audience has increased by 76% in the past five years. This remarkable growth is very encouraging, especially at a time when you would expect people to be preoccupied with hard-news channels due to the ongoing turmoil in the region. ‘One explanation for the growth might be that many people are deeply distressed by the situation in the Middle East: they have lost trust and hope in both their religious and political leadership, and they are looking for divine help and guidance. Many are emotionally tired and are searching for something to lift their spirits; some positive news; something that can encourage them. The messages of faith and hope that we broadcast are very attractive to many,’ says Dr Terence Ascott, founder and CEO of SAT-7.
Middle East: moves of the Spirit
02 Dec 2016Intercessors have been fervently praying for the Muslim world, and God is answering. Bibles for Mideast were miraculously protected when Muslim terrorists interrupted a mass baptism for fifty new Christians. A large dust storm quickly moved in, blocked the militants and drove them away, saving the believers. 10,000 Muslims across the Near East study the Bible together each week, according to Cry Out ministry. Prayer movements are sweeping across the region. Churches are going through renewals as they reach out to migrating Middle East and North African refugees. In Kurdish Iraq, the first Christian church in 1400 years has opened. In Iran, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Afghanistan, many are coming to Christ. 500 churches are planned to open next year in Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Egypt. In the Middle East people look for churches and Christians after having a vision of Jesus.
Protection for our nation
01 Dec 2016At this busy season, we ask you to pray for PROTECTION particularly over the peak train journeys, Churches, motorways, airports and aircrafts, cruise liners and ferries, tunnels and sporting stadiums.
Declaration for the protection of our nations
We declare God’s plans are for good and not for evil, so in the Name of Jesus, we enforce God’s original plans for peace, mercy and hope over and against every plan and purpose of Satan to bring death or destruction and we declare this nation will be a place of safety.
We declare You are the one in whom we put our trust. Psalm 20: 7 “some trust in chariots and some in horses; but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.“ We speak Your protection over our land. In the Name of Jesus, we speak safety into airports, shopping centres, railway stations and every place where people gather. We speak Your divine wisdom and revelation to every member of our security forces and police force.
In this season of pressure, we bless their homes and families in the Name of Jesus with joy, health and peace.
We are looking to continue to mobilise effective informed united prayer across our nations by praying for God’s wisdom, revelation, insight and protection for:
1) Government and World Leaders.
2) Emergency Services
3) Armed forces
4) Intelligence Services
5) Media and communications
6) ISIS and others who may wish to cause danger.
7) Angelic protection for our gates, airports, ferries and ports, tunnels including the Euro tunnel, rail networks and stations, shopping centres, schools, colleges, football stadiums and other vulnerable places where many people gather together.
8) Closing of spiritual gates to violence and premature death.
9) An unprecedented move of God across our communities and nations.
Why?
1) To provide mercy and protection to reduce the danger to life and limb from attacks for our communities and nations.
2) To release a clear trumpet call to those in the valley of decision.
3) To reduce fear and hopelessness - The aim of terror is to bring fear, confusion, hatred – we stand against that in the name of Jesus because his perfect love casts out fear.
4) To bring any plots into the light before they are actioned.
5) To see the Church arise and stand united around Jesus love.
Who can pray?
1) Churches, Groups and individuals – anyone, anywhere general prayer.
How can we pray?
1) This is bigger than one network so we need to stand united to release a clear sound across all of the networks and denominations.
2) Use social media – Twitter, Facebook eg 3 simple prayer points:
a. Lord have mercy across the UK today.
b. Fill us with your love and protect us.
c. May Jesus be revealed across this land.
3) Train and equip people to pray effectively.
4) Provide prayer resources with regular updates as circumstances demand.
6) Coastlands and Gateways
7) Encourage faith and not fear by declaring Jesus victory.
Here are some scriptures you can use:
“Stand therefore...praying at all times in the spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keeping alert with perseverance.” Ephesians 6
“He neither slumbers nor sleeps ....my help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.” He is the Lord of Hosts
“He is the head of all rule and authority” Colossians 2.16
“He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” 1 John 4:4
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” Luke 4:18
Habakkuk 3:2 “Oh Lord. Revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.”
Jeremiah 29:7 “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."
2 Timothy 2:1-2 “I urge, then, first of all that requests, prayer, intersession and thanksgiving be made FOR everyone FOR kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Psalm 18:2-3 “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”
Isaiah 53:5 “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us PEACE was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. “

Numbers 10:3 “When they (the silver trumpets) are sounded, the entire community
is to assemble before You at the entrance to the tent of meeting.”
On November 20th, Silver Trumpets were blown to call the Body of Christ in the United States of America to a HOLY CONVOCATION to Welcome the King of Glory into our Nation January 17th -20th, 2017. Two months later, on January 20th, which is the Second Day for the Battle, we will corporately proclaim the Lord Jesus as King and declare the Victory of His Love over our entire nation. The Second Day of the Battle will be a “DAY OF VICTORY”…a Day of Worship and Joy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before the November 8th National Elections, the Day of the Battle, the “GLORIOUS DAY”, many of us entered corporately into an ESTHER FAST, beginning on the Sabbath, Friday, November 4th at 7 PM and fasting until Monday, November 7th at 7 PM. As we prepared to begin our ESTHER FAST at sundown, three directives were received from the Lord; each had a specific name and action:
Day One - Let the Light of the Godhead Shine
Day Two - Let the Living Water Flow
Day Three - Let the Love of God Embrace all Creation and Bring Salvation
Now, we are being summoned for a HOLY CONVOCATION to Welcome the King of Glory into our Nation.
To prepare for the Second Day for the Battle, Inauguration Day, January 20th, 2017, we will enter into another ESTHER FAST, from January 16th at 7 PM until January 19th at 7 PM. Again, three directives have been received for this initiative:
Day One - January 17th - Justice of God / The Faith of Christ
Proclaim Lord Jesus as the Supreme Judge over the entire nation.
- Location for prayer, intercession, proclamation and Communion – The Supreme Court.
Day Two - January 18th - Law of God / The Hope of Christ
Proclaim Lord Jesus as the Giver and Protector of Godly Law to the nation.
- Location for prayer, intercession, proclamation and Communion – The Capitol.
Day Three - January 19th - Governance of God / The Love of Christ
Proclaim Lord Jesus as the Lord of USA.
- Location for prayer, intercession, proclamation and Communion – The White House.
On January 20th, 2017, we, as representatives of the ekklesia, will sign a Covenant of Marriage with the Lord Jesus…The Judge, The Law Giver, The King of kings and our Beloved Bridegroom. Brothers and sisters from the nations will serve as our witnesses. On that, the Second Day for the Battle, we will proclaim the Lord Jesus as Victor, declare the Victory of His Love over our entire nation and welcome His Governance over the United States of America.
- Location: David's Tent, by the Washington Monument, 130 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20006.
The Second Day of the Battle will indeed be a “DAY OF VICTORY”…
and a Day of Worship and Unbridled Joy. Amen! Alleluia!
1) God Save America - Miracle Headline in One of Australia’s Biggest Newspapers
The Daily Telegraph is Australia’s second largest daily newspaper, comparable to the New York Times, ran a headline before the US election result was announced, which said; God Save America. This anti-God secular newspaper had no idea that this was exactly the prayer of both Australian and American Christians who have been praying in unity in the lead up to the American Election. Australian Christians called for prayer from all over the world for the American elections at a ‘Sunrise Prayer Relay’ on Tuesday 8 November 2016. Australia is 18 hours ahead of the USA.
Warwick Marsh from the National Day of Prayer and Fasting in Australia said, “We congratulate Donald Trump on his win but America does not need Clinton or Trump. America needs God. That is why we are so excited about the headline ‘God Save America’ because that is still our prayer. We are praying for Revival and Transformation in America and a release of the Gospel in the USA. America needs Jesus.”
Pat Steele from the Sunrise Prayer Relay in Australia said; “I believe America is at the beginning of a great awakening. The verse I have for America is Isaiah 43:19, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” I feel that this election result will be the shock that people need to shake the dust off their eyes to know they need saving and reviving. It is only God who can lead them out of the wilderness and wash away the wasteland with His stream.”
Steele continued. “That is why Warwick and I are pretty excited about the headline of the paper today, "God save America". Yes, we might be reading this out of the context of the article, but it reminds me of Balaam in Numbers 23 who was paid by the Moabites to curse Israel but when he opened his mouth to speak he prophesied blessing over them and hope for the future instead. Our God is the God who saves, He is a miracle working God and He is alive, God save America, Amen!!!”
Thanks to our dear friends, the Aussies, for standing with us in prayer for the USA’s national election and let’s agree and pray that this word about revival which many others have also prophesied will indeed begin to happen!
Here is another prophetic word about radical change coming to America:
2) "The Uprising is Coming!"
by Chuck D. Pierce, Corinth, TX
Highlights from Chuck Pierce's prophetic video "The Uprising is Coming!" released on November 7, 2016:
- "This election is not about a person – it's about a structure just as if you were an old wineskin – where one day too long that wineskin routinizes around you and it's like cement and you can't get out of it.
- "This election is not about a person – it's about breaking out of a structure. If we stay in the structure we're in one more season, it will be so routinized and so ordered around us that we cannot as a nation come out of it.
- "Decree and vote for what will break you out of an old structure!
- "I say there is a new anointing rising in my people, and from the new anointing you will rise up and see the opportunities that I have for you. For right now opportunities seem blocked, but I say to you there is an uprising coming! There is an uprising coming! There is an uprising coming! It has been brewing underneath, but now you will see the uprising," sayeth the Lord!
- The Lord just said, "If you knew how close you were to the revolution of change that is coming, you would not be able to keep your mouth shut one moment!"
- The Lord said, "Do not hold your peace from this day forward – for the next five months you will hear, 'Peace! Peace!' but there is no peace.
- The Lord says, "The sword of Heaven is coming to liberate the ground and My people must have the sound that liberates the ground."
- I say to you I will come from the Islands and I will blow a wind. I will come from both sides of this land with a wind that will cause what couldn't stand to fall. I say to you the winds are now circling from Heaven and will now surround the lands of the earth. I say to you welcome the winds in for the change and the revolution of change is now at hand!
3) An admonition from a Romanian prayer leader:
A Word from the Lord
January 20 – The Second day for the Battle
November 8th was the Glorious Day, a Miracle from God. The People of God received the right to fight for their lives, families, communities, towns and cities and nations all over the world and especially in USA (the leading nation of nations, or Capital Susa following the parable of the book of Esther.
The adversary is regrouping, buy time with nice and politically correct discourses, but is preparing to fight back.
Friday, January 20, 2017, the Inauguration Day is the Second Day for the Battle. The Second Day for the Battle is to secure the victory of Nov 8 for the People of God in USA.
Friday January 20, 2017 is the Day for Battle. Prepare, be Ready, Unite and Fight for the future of you, your children and grandchildren, for the future of this great nation ad the entire world. The adversary has not legal right to return and harm again this nation.
I pray this message will receive the confirmation of the Body of Christ in USA. May you as the spiritual leaders adapt, share and act accordingly?
4) A thoughtful perspective on the situation after the American election
The Day After Election Day
by John Stonestreet
For most Americans, the results of Tuesday’s presidential elections came as a shock, even a surprise, and for many, a bit of a relief. That feeling of relief is understandable. While there’s no way to be sure what will happen over the next four years, Christians may very well have gained a reprieve in areas such as religious freedom and attempts to impose the new sexual orthodoxy and gender ideology on our schools.
So relief? Yes. But I’d caution against elation, because what happened on Tuesday was more of a reprieve than a vindication. A close read of Tuesday’s results, beyond the presidential race, shows that the cultural trends we’ve been talking about on BreakPoint for years continue unimpeded. The saddest example is Colorado voters’ approval of doctor-assisted suicide by a two-to-one margin. I warned on this broadcast that so-called “right to die” invariably becomes a duty to die. I reminded my fellow Coloradans that in a state currently in the midst of an epidemic of teen suicide, approving doctor-assisted suicide sends the wrong message.
But it didn’t matter. The siren song of unlimited personal autonomy and self-definition proved irresistible to a large majority of Coloradans.
And a similar dynamic was at work in the various ballot initiatives concerning marijuana. Voters in California, Massachusetts, and Nevada joined Colorado and Washington in legalizing marijuana outright. As of this writing, the result in Maine is too close to call, although supporters of legalization have already declared victory.
Meanwhile, voters in Florida, Arkansas and North Dakota approved so-called “medical marijuana” use. I say “so-called” because if history is any indication, these laws amount to legalization by just another name.
Only Arizona, thanks largely to the efforts of the Council for Arizona Policy, bucked the trend for legalized weed. So, all in all this was a bad night for the idea that human good involves something other than unlimited personal freedom and pleasure.
And no matter how much relief we feel over the defeat of what would certainly have been a radically pro-choice, anti-religious freedom Clinton administration, the serious moral concerns about the man who was just elected president remain, as do the serious moral concerns about the nation that elected him, and those evangelical leaders who went on record saying that character no longer matters in a leader.
So where does all this leave us today? How will we use this reprieve? Well first of all, we should, as the Bible instructs us, pray for those in authority. We should also pray for President-Elect Trump to surround himself with wise and godly counselors, and to act justly, wisely, and rightly.
Beyond that we should support any of his policies that promote the common good. We should urge him to protect the unborn, as well as those who believe in traditional marriage, and to safeguard religious freedom.
But what we can’t do is fall prey to the political illusion. As Chuck Colson liked to say, the Kingdom of God never arrives on Air Force One. Too often Christians lose sight of this basic truth and have allowed themselves to become court preachers instead of prophets.
But prophets we must be. The church’s duty is to speak truth to power, especially when the power doesn’t want to hear it. If Jesus is Lord, no one else is. Now today on BreakPoint.org, we’ve created a symposium on the Church and the election…to answer the question: “What has the 2016 election revealed about the state of the Church and its place in American culture, and how ought we (the American Church) move forward from here?" You’ll want to read what our contributors have to say. Again, visit BreakPoint.org to check out our symposium, “The Election and the Church.”
Please pray for the new administration taking power in the USA on January 20 and this crucial time in between that efforts to destabilize and further divide the nation will be quashed. Pray that the wicked will be removed from government and all other sectors of society and replaced by upright, honest officials that the Lord can use to bring about a moral and spiritual reformation that will affect not only this nation but our world.
(from a Christian worker friend living in Kabul)
“Every city is different, Paris, New York, Berlin, etc, almost like the powers and principalities over it control it, and they must fall. Daniel talks about the Prince of Persia.
Anyway here is a short history of Kabul. For those who take the time to read it, it is interesting, and shows a lot of death, etc. Interestingly legends say Cain is the founder of the city, and is buried here.”
History
Legendarily founded by Cain and Abel, Kabul is an ancient city, repeatedly fought over by all the region’s great empires and religions. Known in antiquity as Kabura, it was an Achaemenid outpost 2500 years ago, later renamed Parapamisidae by the Bactrian Greeks who built a city here. In the centuries that followed, Kabul became a Buddhist city during the Kushan era, Hindu (interesting this Hindu temple is still active here, and the goddess they worship is Asmai and Kali, goddess of death) under the Indians and finally Muslims with the Arab expansion from the east. Kabul’s first Afghan rulers were the Ghorids in the 12th century.
The whirlwind of destruction wreaked by Genghis Khan had largely blown itself out by the time he reached Kabul, and the city escaped the worst of the Mongol destruction. Kabul prospered under Timur in the 14th century, who even married the sister of one of Kabul’s rulers, and used the city as the base for his conquest of India. In 1504 Kabul was captured by Babur, founder of the Mughal empire. Babur loved Kabul, and had rhapsodised about its many delights. Even as his ambition drove him eastward to India he dreamed of the city, writing, ‘I have a longing beyond expression to return to Kabul. How can its delights ever be erased from my heart?’. His body was returned to Kabul for burial.
Kabul was never a secure throne. When Dost Mohammed became Emir in the 1820s, he found himself squeezed not just by Afghan rivals, but by the British and Russian empires. Initially courted by both powers, the British eventually sent an army of occupation to Kabul in 1839, putting their own puppet on the throne. It was an early round of the Great Game that ended in disaster for the British – their resident hacked to pieces by a mob, and the Kabul garrison massacred as it tried to retreat from the city. The British sent an army of retribution to Kabul in 1842 and dynamited the medieval covered bazaar, but also allowed Dost Mohammed to slip back in to the country and quietly regain his throne.
Incredibly, the British failed to learn their lesson, and were back again in 1878 trying to impose their rule. There was another massacre of British residents and another punitive army sent to Kabul (this time it was the Bala Hissar to be destroyed). At the end of the war, Amir Abdur Rahman Khan was left master of his kingdom.
At the start of the 20th century Kabul was the focus of an ambitious modernising program under King Amanullah. Kabul boomed for the next 40 years. The USA and Soviet Union competed to provide vast amounts of aid, which helped pay for the paving of the city and the opening of Kabul University. The capital became a cosmopolitan place, and welcomed tourists from around the world.
Things started to change following the Soviet occupation in 1979. On the surface Kabul continued to prosper. Women made up nearly 40% of all governmental jobs, and the city’s shops were well stocked. The population largely sat out the war that raged across the country, although resistance groups increasingly infiltrated Kabul’s tight defences to carry out guerrilla attacks and bombings.
If a smooth change of power was expected following the withdrawal of the Red Army in 1989, events quickly proved otherwise. The victorious mujaheddin entered the capital in April 1992 and straight away fell into a murderous battle for control of the city.
Ahmad Shah Massoud’s Tajiks nominally controlled the presidency and most of Kabul, but they were immediately attacked by the forces of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, whose preferred military tactic was the mass shelling of the city. Also jostling for power were General Dostum’s Uzbeks and the Hazara militias. At different times, all fought with or against each other.
The west and south of the city were flattened under continuous bombardment, and countless atrocities were committed against civilians. Around 50, 000 Kabulis lost their lives between 1992 and 1996, and a flood of refugees left the city. The puritan Taliban might have been welcomed as a group that could return the rule of law. Their first action on capturing Kabul in September 1996 was the public lynching of the former communist president Najibullah. The illiterate Taliban held a strong distrust of Kabul and its educated Persian-speaking population, and ruled the city with a harsh fist.
The Taliban’s Vice and Virtue Police quickly squeezed the life out of Kabul, beating women for wearing high heels under their burqas, and imprisoning men whose beards were too short. Under American bombardment, the Taliban fled Kabul in November 2001 and the Northern Alliance walked back in to power. Another army followed, this time of aid workers, contractors and returning refugees. Reconstruction continues, but it’s a slow and often very frustrating process.
2014 September - The two rivals for the Afghan presidency, Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah, signed a power-sharing agreement, following a two-month audit of disputed election results. Ashraf Ghani was sworn in as president. This is not working.
Please pray for the healing of Afghanistan from decades of war and division. Pray that these two sides of the government will work together in real unity and deference to one another for the good of the land. Pray that the Taliban and ISIS rebels will be thrown into confusion and disunity and have to give up their armed struggle which is continuing the pattern of destruction and death that has stalked Afghanistan for many centuries. Let’s believe God that the future history of this longsuffering land can be different through persevering prayers of faith from inside and outside of the nation!
From the 27th to 30th of October this year we had a remarkable gathering in Geneva of the European 24-7 Prayer family. There were over 470 people gathered from about 26 different nations and many tribes and tongues from God’s church were represented. Highlights of the conference included praying together in unity for a move of God across Europe, worshipping together in different European languages and hearing testimonies of how God is at work across our continent.
As well as a stream of seminars, we experienced rich and challenging teaching from the main stage throughout the weekend from Dr Johannes Hertl (leader of the house of prayer in Augsberg, Germany, a Catholic house of non stop prayer), Miriam Swaffield (mission co-ordinator for Fusion, a student work movement in the UK), Adam Cox (leader Navah Church Kansas City and one of the leaders of 24-7 Prayer USA) and Pete Greig (founder and leader of the 24-7 Prayer movement).
Our gathering culminated in an evening of worship in the historic Cathédrale St Pierre (Calvin’s cathedral). This was a very significant moment for us as we worshipped together on the eve of the reformation, across many different denominations and traditions in order to worship, pray and seek God in unity. In one voice we prayed together a commitment, which included this promise:
‘We will co-operate together for the cause of Jesus Christ, across the boundaries of language, gender, culture, denomination and race.
We declare the supremacy of Jesus, the King of Kings, above all political, cultural and economic systems of control.
If our leaders build walls, we will build bridges. If others preach hate we will preach love. If our nations wage war, we will fight for peace.
As citizens of heaven we pledge our allegiance to the One who is reconciling all things together for his glory: Jesus Christ, Our Lord.’
After the worship event in the cathedral, we hosted a party with our annual ‘Generosity Auction.’ This year we auctioned off slippers which people donated and had a lot of fun bidding outrageously generous amounts to give to kingdom causes. Altogether we raised £12000 in the auction, which, amongst other things, bought a BUV for a micro finance project in Tanzania, a beautiful meal for sex workers we are connecting with in Ibiza and support for our missionaries working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
We are incredibly grateful to God for his presence amongst us throughout our time in Geneva and for the many lives, which were shaped and transformed from this gathering. Thank you so much for your prayers, we were humbled to be supported in prayer by so many around the globe.
