Christian music wakes up astronauts

Christian music played a meaningful role during day six of NASA’s Artemis II mission, as astronauts were awakened to the song 'Good Morning' by TobyMac and Mandisa. The moment was especially poignant because Mandisa died in April 2024, with TobyMac expressing gratitude and reflecting on the honour of their music reaching space. The wake-up playlist also included a variety of popular artists, creating an uplifting start to the crew’s day. Victor Glover, who has been open about his Christian faith, used the mission’s milestone near the moon to share a message centred on Christ’s teaching. He reminded listeners that the greatest commandment is to love God fully and to love one another, even while exploring the vastness of space. Christian artist Anne Wilson also contributed to the mission by performing the national anthem at the launch, describing the opportunity as a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and guidance through life’s unexpected paths.

TV personality David Harper, known for Bargain Hunt and Antiques Roadshow, spent much of his life sceptical of Christianity, influenced by atheism in his upbringing, and drawn instead to alternative spiritual paths. Despite professional success, he found fame and material gain deeply unsatisfying, leaving him searching for meaning. The turning point came through his daughter’s remarkable recovery from severe depression after encountering Jesus. Motivated to investigate, he undertook an eleven-month intellectual exploration of Christianity, applying the same rigour he used in historical research. He concluded that creation points to an intelligent designer and became persuaded of the historical reality of the resurrection. However, it was not evidence alone that changed him, but the undeniable transformation he saw in lives - including his daughter’s and eventually his own. Harper now describes himself as born again, finding deep joy, purpose, and fulfilment in a personal relationship with Jesus - something he believes surpasses all worldly success.

A powerful testimony of redemption and forgiveness is reaching global audiences through the film 'God’s Here,' created by filmmaker Bill McAdams Jr. Inspired by personal tragedy, the story follows a grieving firefighter whose life is shattered by the loss of his family in a hit-and-run accident. As the narrative unfolds, he is forced to confront deep questions of justice, mercy, and the possibility of forgiveness. The film reflects McAdams’ own journey after his brother’s death in 2012. Over several years, he wrestled with grief and anger before discovering healing through faith. A defining moment came when his mother chose to forgive the driver responsible and even invited her family to the funeral - an act of extraordinary grace that shaped the heart of the film. Rather than presenting a superficial message, the film honestly explores pain, despair, and the struggle toward peace. McAdams emphasises that true healing comes through surrendering pain to God and living daily in His Word: in Christ, even the deepest wounds can lead to restoration, joy, and renewed purpose.

She has also been encouraged by discovering other Christian teammates who are helping her grow spiritually. As her team prepares for the new season after winning the Netball Super Cup, Neil believes the difficult loss ultimately became a blessing that led her to faith and renewed hope both on and off the court.

Yorkshire missionary Andy Newlove has shared remarkable stories of God’s faithfulness during fifteen years serving in the Philippines. His life, he says, began with a miracle. After a miscarriage, doctors doubted his mother would carry a child to term, but she prayed and dedicated her son to God. Andy was born, though tragedy followed when his father died while he was still a baby. Growing up, he witnessed many answers to prayer and came to believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit remain active today. As a child he experienced healing after a severe scald, and later prayed for a girl dying of meningitis who recovered and eventually became his wife, Tracey. When she was 33 weeks pregnant with their first child, they moved 7,000 miles to the Philippines. There they survived earthquakes, typhoons, and dangerous journeys while planting churches and training local believers. Miracles, unity among pastors, and revival marked their years of service. Today their legacy continues through family and Filipino leaders serving Christ worldwide.

Actor Tim Allen has publicly celebrated completing a 13-month, word-by-word journey through the entire Bible – a 'no skimming' commitment from Genesis to Revelation. The 72-year-old, known for the films Toy Story and The Santa Clause, shared that he felt 'humbled, enlightened and amazed' by what he read, and plans to begin again after time for reflection and meditation. His announcement drew encouragement from fans and Christian leaders, including Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, who invited him to join a two-year Bible study. Allen has become increasingly open about his faith, and in a recent podcast he reflected on the relationship between God’s law and human sin. Last year he revealed he had never previously read the Bible fully; he began with the Old Testament and found it 'amazing and not at all what I was expecting’. He has also called for clearer Christian themes in The Santa Clauses series, insisting Christmas be recognised as rooted in Christ.

Atheist filmmaker abandons unbelief for Jesus

A growing spiritual awakening among Gen Z and Millennials is reflected in the testimony of filmmaker Michael Ray Lewis, a former atheist who has now turned to Christ. He says his unbelief was shaped by unanswered objections about evolution, evil, and judgment, reinforced by atheist media portraying Christianity as intellectually bankrupt. Determined to disprove his wife’s renewed faith, he began attending church and revisiting Christian claims. What started as resistance slowly turned into curiosity as Lewis discovered thoughtful responses to his questions and positive evidence for God’s existence. Scientific insights, particularly from astrophysics, challenged his assumption that faith and reason were incompatible. After several years, he realised that his remaining objections were rooted not in evidence but in unwillingness to believe. In 2016, he surrendered his life to Christ. Leaving behind his horror film career, he felt called to serve God creatively and produced the documentary Universe Designed, presenting compelling scientific and philosophical evidence for an intelligent Creator.

X Factor finalist discovers the joy of faith

Singer-songwriter Talia Dean, once an X Factor finalist, discovered that fame brought none of the fulfilment she longed for. Though achieving what many dream of, she found herself exhausted, unwell, and deeply empty — 'an endless search to fill a void you can never fill with claps and cheers or money.' On New Year’s Eve 2023, after years of feeling low and searching for 'something,' she wandered into a churchyard and desperately prayed for a sign of warmth or love. God answered through the unexpected kindness of strangers - the vicar’s wife and daughters, who invited her in, prayed for her, and, as she describes it, filled the kitchen with heavenly light. Later that day, she asked the Lord for one more sign, and sunlight broke through the grey rainclouds into her room. Talia has now joyfully returned to her Catholic roots, creating worship music, including her BBC-performed song 'I will praise Your name’. She longs for others to discover faith, direction, and the soul-filling joy she has found in Christ.
